Thank you for your interest in volunteering or being a part of Media for the 4th Annual Detroit Filmmaker Awards.


Thank you for your interest in covering the 4th  Annual Detroit Filmmaker Awards. Please use the MEDIA CREDENTIAL form to submit for your Media Credentials Pass through August 4th, 2023. If approved, you will receive specific details regarding the credentialing process by August 11th, 2023. 


Things to know:


  • Media credentials will be provided to a limited amount of media outlets. 

  • Media credentials will be given to  three representatives per outlet.

  • DFA expects ALL credentialed media to interview, photograph, videograph or write articles about the events/activities of the day. When doing so on social media, please use hashtag #DFA2023 If writing articles, please submit a link or copy of such to

  • Credentialed media is expected to respect ALL attendees, volunteers, DFA staff and other outlets. 

  • DFA credentialed media should display their media passes at all times and remain in designated areas unless otherwise notified. 


Volunteers are an essential part of any event. We would love to thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the 4th Annual Detroit Filmmaker Awards. 

We are looking for volunteers to assist in all areas of the festival. The greatest part of this is being around Detroits amazing creatives, filmmakers, and other awesome individuals in the film community. 


Volunteer Overview
  • Complete the online application no later than August 4th and we will respond to you by August 11th. 

  • Volunteers provide their own transportation, lodging and meals.

  • Select a time of day and area of expertise for commitment. 

  • As a DFA  Volunteer you are one of the first faces some may see and as such you should be professional and courteous at all times.

  • No photographs with talent on-site while on shift.

  • You may be standing for long periods of time, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

  • Refreshments and snacks will be available in the volunteer assigned area.


Volunteers MUST:

  • Arrive on time.

  • Be available to work their agreed upon time.

  • Wear the requested attire, wear the assigned badge and be professional at all times.

  • Respect ALL attendees.

Volunteer Benefits:

Knowing that your presence as a volunteer is an essential part of the awards, as a token of our appreciation you will receive the following benefits:

  • Access to the awards, as a volunteer.

  • You are welcome to attend events during the times you are not scheduled to work, but entry to some areas is limited. DO NOT sit in any reserved areas. 

  • An opportunity to submit your business card or small sample of a product to be distributed. PLEASE do not distribute your business card or products while on duty.  

  • We offer light snacks and refreshments to grab-and-go when not on shift. These snacks are not meant to replace meals, which volunteers are responsible for providing themselves.
